Speed Sound Flashcards introduce the sounds and the corresponding graphemes (letters), to enable children to decode words easily so they are ready to read the storybooks. Speed Sound Flashcards Set 1 include the letter sounds a-z and the sounds sh, ch th, nk and ng. Picture/Word cards are included for children to practice using the sounds they have learnt in context. The creator, Ruth Miskin is currently involved in a series of nationwide training programmes for primary schools, commissioned by the UK government's Department for Education and Skills.
